Official: Real Madrid parts ways with the host club

Real Madrid has formally announced that it and midfielder Dani Ceballos have reached a mutual agreement to terminate his playing contract. The 29-year-old Spaniard will depart the club as a free agent, as the agreement concludes his tenure despite having one year remaining on his existing contract. The official statement from the club confirmed, “Real Madrid and Dani Ceballos have decided, by mutual agreement, to conclude his period as a player for our club.”

Ceballos initially joined Real Madrid during the summer of 2017, transferring from Real Betis.

He arrived at the Santiago Bernabéu as one of Spain’s highly touted young midfield talents. However, his time developing within the first team structure of the club did not meet expectations. Following two seasons characterized by limited on-field minutes, he was subsequently loaned to Arsenal for a two-year period.

This latest development signals a definitive change in his professional status with the club. The mutual termination means that Ceballos is now free to seek opportunities elsewhere in the football market. While the departure marks the end of his direct association with the squad, the transfer status of the player will now be managed through free agency rules.

The announcement concludes a chapter in the player’s career with the prestigious Madrid institution.
