Nikollovski: The Prilep–Manastir road will shorten the journey to Athens

Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikollovski announced that construction efforts are accelerating on the Prilep–Manastir highway, a key component of Corridor 10D. Nikollovski stated that this specific segment represents the only portion of the highway currently under in-situ construction, and its completion will link the Pelagonia region to the broader regional transport network. The minister outlined a phased timeline for the project.

He stated that the initial 10.5-kilometer segment is targeted for operational status by the first half of 2027. Following this, the remaining 40-kilometer section is scheduled for completion over the subsequent year, with construction proceeding in a single lane. Nikollovski emphasized the anticipated impact of the completed highway.

According to the minister, the new route is expected to significantly reduce the travel time between Skopje and Athens to an estimated three to three and a half hours. This improved connectivity is anticipated to foster substantial economic, business, and tourism growth within the Pelagonia region, solidifying the strategic importance of the Prilep–Manastir corridor.
