EC Ma Ndryshe demands law enforcement after findings of violations in a building in the Historic Center of Prizren

The EC Ma Ndryshe, in its capacity to monitor matters concerning urban planning, cultural heritage protection, and public interest, has received community concerns regarding ongoing construction activities on “Shën Albani” street in Prizren. A media notice indicated that after reviewing the official documentation from competent institutions, the organization observed discrepancies between the construction work taking place on site and the approved project plans. Specifically, the Regional Center for Cultural Heritage (QRTK) in Prizren, along with the Directorate of the Prizren Municipality Inspectorate, noted these inconsistencies.

According to the QRTK’s monitoring report, several interventions were evident that did not comply with the permits issued by the relevant cultural heritage authorities. Consequently, the discrepancies suggest that the current construction practices deviate from established regulatory guidelines. The concerns raised by the EC Ma Ndryshe underscore the need for adherence to established procedures during urban development.

The findings from both the QRTK and the Municipality Inspectorate point to a divergence between the physical execution of the work and the legally sanctioned blueprints. This situation prompts an investigation into the compliance of the construction efforts along Ndryshe street, ensuring that development respects both municipal codes and the preservation mandates governing the area.
