Sunday protest in Croatia for the release of former UÇK leaders, Gucati calls on the diaspora to join

The UÇK Veterans Organization has announced plans for a public demonstration scheduled to take place in Zara, Croatia, on April 5th, commencing at 6:00 PM. The planned demonstration will carry the slogan, “Freedom for the Liberators,” and aims to show support for several former UÇK leaders who are currently undergoing legal proceedings in The Hague. During a press conference, Hysni Gucati, the head of the UÇK Veterans Organization, stated that the event is being organized by members of the Albanian and Croatian communities within Croatia.

Gucati linked the timing of the planned protest to the anticipated conclusion of the judicial processes taking place in The Hague. “The conference concerns the next protest that will take place in Zara, Croatia, ‘Freedom for the Liberators.’ We understand that the process in The Hague is nearing its end, and we remain hopeful for favorable outcomes,” Gucati stated. He issued a call for participation, specifically inviting Albanian nationals residing in Croatia as well as expatriates visiting the area during the summer months to join the gathering.

The organization framed the gathering as a show of solidarity amidst the ongoing legal scrutiny facing the former figures. The announcement serves to mobilize support for the individuals involved as the judicial proceedings approach a potential resolution.
