Haziri: LDK has decided in principle to be an active participant in the building of institutions

Lutfi Haziri, Deputy leader of the LDK, addressed the media on June 29, 2026, following a leadership gathering of the party with its branch representatives. Haziri stated that the assembly was a component of the broader effort to manage the post-election political situation. During the gathering, which commenced at 3:00 PM, the LDK leadership convened to address the developments following the recent election results announced on July 7.

The meeting took place amidst mounting pressure from several party branches, which had formally demanded the resignation of LDK Chairman Lemir Abdixhi. According to Haziri, the gathering represented a structured effort by the LDK chairman and the party’s governing bodies to formulate a response to the current political climate. He explained that the LDK intended to maintain an active role in the ongoing political processes, specifically by participating in the institutional building efforts within the country.

Haziri emphasized that the discussions held during this crucial meeting were designed to guide the party’s next steps. He noted that the LDK leadership viewed its participation as a necessary response to the evolving political landscape. Furthermore, Haziri advised that following the conclusion of the internal deliberations, a designated spokesperson would issue a statement representing the official position of the LDK.

The gathering thus served as a platform for the party to consolidate its strategy in response to the electoral outcomes and internal calls for leadership change.
