The acting Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Rural Development of Kosovo, Armend Muja, visited Tirana at the invitation of the Albanian Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Andis Salla. During the visit, two cooperation agreements were signed between the respective ministries. According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Rural Development, these agreements are designed to enhance institutional coordination and advance common policies within the agro-food sector.
A primary focus of the accords is to raise standards across several critical areas, including food safety, veterinary medicine, and phytosanitary matters. Furthermore, the agreements outline plans to expand cooperation in rural development. This collaboration is expected to support local farmers through the implementation of joint agricultural policies and the establishment of financial support schemes.
The signing underscores a mutual commitment to strengthening bilateral ties in the sector. These newly signed agreements represent a structured effort to improve governance and mutual support between Kosovo and Albania in agricultural matters. By formalizing cooperation in areas ranging from food safety to rural development, the participating nations aim to boost the overall resilience and sustainability of their respective agricultural economies.
