The Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, held a meeting with Valentina Superti, the Director for Enlargement and Western Balkans of the European Union, during Ms. Superti’s initial visit to the country. During the discussions, Acting Prime Minister Kurti acknowledged the European Union’s significant contributions to development through various instruments.
Kurti stated that achieving membership in the European Union remains the central objective and the defined future trajectory for Kosovo. He attributed the development of Kosovo into an inclusive democracy that upholds European values, in part, to the support provided by the European Union, noting the strong domestic backing for EU alignment as evidence of this progress. In his remarks, Kurti emphasized that the expressed will of the people of Kosovo regarding membership must be met with a reciprocal commitment and willingness to accept from the European Union.
He stressed the critical importance of this mutual alignment for Kosovo’s continued integration efforts. The meeting highlighted ongoing dialogue between Kosovo’s leadership and the EU regarding the path toward deeper integration and the realization of Kosovo’s aspirations within the broader European framework.
