Iran says Qatar’s talks will cover the agreement with the US and frozen assets

Iranian officials indicated that discussions scheduled for Qatar on Wednesday will focus on implementing provisions related to the Tehran agreement with the United States, with a specific emphasis on the status of restricted Iranian assets. During a statement on Tuesday, Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirmed that the talks in Doha will address several provisions of the memorandum of understanding, including mechanisms for the release of Iran’s frozen assets. Baghaei further clarified that the Iranian negotiating team currently has no scheduled plans to meet with any American delegation in the immediate future.

The developing diplomatic environment was also noted in the reporting. Separately, Majed al-Ansari, the spokesperson for the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, provided details regarding potential high-level discussions. Al-Ansari’s comments mentioned the involvement of the US envoy, Steve Witkoff, and the president’s advisor, Dona, suggesting continued diplomatic engagement involving the US and regional parties.

These developments highlight the ongoing diplomatic efforts surrounding the comprehensive agreement between Iran and the US. The focus remains heavily on the practical implementation of the terms and the resolution concerning the detained assets, with Qatar serving as the venue for the anticipated discussions.
