Investment of 4.17 million euros in the Kërpime–Bajgorë segment in Mitrovica

The Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Dimal Basha, recently inspected the ongoing construction efforts on the Kërpime–Bajgorë regional road segment located in Mitrovica. Officials reported that the project is nearing its completion phase. According to the Ministry, the rehabilitation of this 6.67-kilometer segment was supported by an investment totaling 4.17 million euros.

This infrastructure upgrade is anticipated to substantially enhance the connectivity between Mitrovica and Podujevë. The improvements are expected to facilitate faster, safer, and more efficient movement for both local citizens and commercial traffic. The Ministry noted that the road had suffered from poor structural integrity and numerous damages over several years, which had previously impeded regular traffic flow.

The rehabilitation process has involved bringing the entire segment up to modern engineering standards. Key enhancements include the installation of safety guardrails, comprehensive horizontal and vertical signaling systems, and other necessary elements designed to maximize operational safety and efficiency. The substantial investment underscores the commitment to improving regional transit corridors.

By modernizing this critical segment, authorities aim to alleviate previous transportation bottlenecks and provide a reliable route essential for the economic and daily life functions of the surrounding communities.
