Action for Mothers and Children (AMC) is marking the tenth anniversary of Teshavesha, a charity initiative that has been transforming donated goods into essential support for women and children in Kosovo since 2016. To commemorate the milestone, the charity shop has announced extended operating hours throughout the summer season. Operating two physical locations in Pristina, Teshavesha serves as a vital hub for community resource management.
The organization collects thousands of kilograms of donated items annually, including clothing, footwear, accessories, and household goods. This process not only aids in reducing textile waste but also generates crucial, sustainable funding streams for AMC’s maternal and child health programs across the region. According to AMC Executive Director, Rina Demiri Spahija, the impact of community support has been substantial.
“Over the last ten years, Teshavesha has demonstrated that every single donation and every resulting purchase can make a tangible difference,” Spahija stated. She acknowledged the collective effort required to sustain the mission, expressing gratitude to the donors, clients, volunteers, and partners who contribute to the cause. The ongoing success of Teshavesha underscores the direct link between charitable donations and improved public health outcomes for vulnerable populations.
The funds raised directly support specialized care and resources dedicated to the well-being of mothers and children throughout Kosovo. Through its continued efforts, Teshavesha solidifies its role as a key contributor to sustainable development and community welfare.
