The Association of Architects of Kosovo represents the country at the World Congress of Architects in Barcelona

Kosovo will feature its architectural contributions for the first time at the “UIA Member Sections Exhibition,” an event integral to the World Congress of Architects UIA 2026 in Barcelona. The Kosovo Architects Association has secured a dedicated presentation area within the exhibition, where the nation’s architectural history and contemporary developments will be showcased alongside those of other participating states. The congress is scheduled to take place from April 28 to February 1, 2026, and is expected to convene thousands of global architects, researchers, students, and institutional representatives.

The theme for this latest edition is “Becoming: Architectures for a Planet in Transition.” Over 250 speakers are slated to present research, projects, and discussions concerning the future trajectory of architecture. This major international gathering provides a significant platform for the field. The inclusion of Kosovo at this prominent event underscores the growing recognition of its architectural sector on the global stage.

The exhibition format allows for a comprehensive comparative view of national design trends. The participation of local architects within the framework of the global congress highlights the country’s engagement with international discourse on sustainable and transitional design practices.
