The acting Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Dimal Basha, formalized an agreement with the Mayor of Drenë Municipality, Ramiz Lladrovci, through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This agreement specifically addresses the necessary repair and reconstruction of the “Shtrubullova Bridge,” which sustained significant damage due to recent flooding. According to the Drenë Municipality, the entire financial burden for this vital infrastructure project will be covered by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.
The estimated value of the necessary construction work is approximately 362,000 euros. Officials anticipate that the completion of the new bridge will substantially improve local connectivity and ease the daily circulation patterns for residents in the affected area. During the signing ceremony, Minister Basha confirmed the details of the partnership, stating, “Today, I signed the Memorandum of Understanding with the Mayor of Drenë Municipality, Ramiz Lladrovci, for the construction of the ‘Shtrubullova Bridge.'” He further noted that the damage incurred by the structure during the flood events had severely hampered the movement of citizens, making the repair a matter of immediate public necessity.
The MOU solidifies the commitment from the national ministry to support the local efforts of the municipality. This coordinated effort ensures that the critical infrastructure—the bridge—will undergo comprehensive construction to restore full functionality. The collaboration between the Ministry and the municipality is designed to mitigate the disruption caused by the previous damage, thereby supporting the sustained movement and daily life of the community served by the structure.
