In preparation for the upcoming NATO Summit, Turkish authorities have initiated comprehensive organizational measures across the capital, Ankara, to ensure a highly structured and efficient reception for international delegations. These preparations have placed significant emphasis on upgrading public services, particularly the private transportation sector, including taxi services. As part of the necessary protocols for this major international gathering, new standards have been established for taxi drivers operating within the city.
These guidelines address both professional appearance and service standards. To foster a more cohesive and professional image for arriving visitors, drivers are now required to adhere to a designated uniform. This mandatory attire consists of grey trousers paired with white shirts.
Beyond appearance, the service component has also been formalized. Drivers are instructed to enhance the passenger experience by offering complimentary elements rooted in Turkish cultural traditions. These customary amenities include local Turkish candy, known as lokum; the aromatic liquid called kolonya; and bottled water.
These measures reflect the government’s commitment to facilitating a smooth and welcoming environment for all participants attending the NATO Summit. The coordinated efforts aim to streamline logistics and provide a consistently high level of service throughout the duration of the high-level meetings in Ankara.
