Two individuals attached themselves to the top of the Empire State Building in New York on Wednesday afternoon. While wearing masks, the man and woman unfurled a banner that read, “When the power of love conquers the love for power, the world will know peace.” The exact method by which they reached the height of the Empire State Building remains unclear. The incident took place around noon.
Following the display of the banner, one of the individuals initially began to descend before returning to the structure’s upper levels. Later, both descended to a platform situated lower down on the building. At this point, the man knelt and appeared to propose marriage to the woman, after which they kissed.
New York Police intervened at the scene, resulting in the arrest of both individuals. Authorities have not released further details regarding the sequence of events or their means of ascent to the building’s summit.
