The Statistics Agency publishes population forecasts and municipal profiles

The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (ASK) has released two new publications derived from its population registration process: comprehensive population forecasts and a municipal profile. These documents represent a novel format for presenting this type of data. During the official presentation, it was noted that the population forecasts are designed to help stakeholders understand anticipated demographic shifts over the coming years.

Furthermore, the municipal profile provides a comparative analysis of local development trends across various municipalities spanning from 2011 to 2024. Agon Batusha, the Deputy Minister of Local Authority Administration, commented on the significance of the data, stating that the information published by the ASK is expected to directly influence the operations of local institutions and the strategic planning of public services. The depth of the data allows for more informed governance at the local level.

The introduction of these tools is anticipated to enhance regional planning efforts. The population forecasts offer a predictive view of demographic changes, while the municipal profile offers a historical and comparative snapshot of local growth and development. Experts suggest that utilizing these resources will enable local governments to better allocate resources and tailor public services to the evolving needs of their residents.

This comprehensive data package is set to become a key resource for policy-making and sustainable regional development in Kosovo.
