VLEN: Air transport is being modernized with European standards, RMV is the first in the region with the most advanced technology

Air transport infrastructure in North Macedonia is reportedly undergoing continuous advancements, driven by investments in security enhancements, technological upgrades, and the expansion of international air connections. According to statements from the ruling party, VLEN, these developments highlight improvements across the national transport sector. A key development noted is the integration of advanced security technology at the airport.

Deputy Minister of Transport and Connections, Kaltrina Zekolli, was involved in the commissioning of a new tomographic system designed for inspecting hand luggage. This one-million-euro investment positions North Macedonia as a leader in adopting sophisticated airport security technology within the Balkan region, as it marks the first implementation of this specific system type in the area. These technological modernizations extend beyond mere equipment upgrades.

The overall strategy aims to elevate the standard of air travel and connectivity. The commitment to improving the transport sector, according to VLEN officials, suggests a sustained effort to enhance the operational capacity and appeal of the country’s air gateways. The improvements signal a focus on meeting international benchmarks for safety and efficiency within the national air transport framework.
