Sony finalized an agreement with TCL concerning their Bravia televisions.

Sony and TCL have officially solidified their long-anticipated joint venture, announced in January. The strategic partnership, confirmed today by Telegrafi, will see the two companies collaborate on televisions and home audio products. TCL will maintain control with a 51% stake in the new venture.

The legally binding agreement outlines a specific structure for the collaboration. Sony will create a wholly-owned subsidiary to manage its entire home entertainment business. This subsidiary will be responsible for key operations such as product development and design, manufacturing processes, sales strategies, and logistical support.

Furthermore, TCL will acquire a significant portion of the subsidiary’s shares, securing a 51% ownership percentage. Sony will retain the remaining 49% stake. This arrangement ensures that TCL’s influence remains dominant while allowing Sony to continue overseeing customer service specifically for televisions.

The new company will comprehensively manage Sony’s home entertainment operations, streamlining processes and leveraging the strengths of both tcl and sony. This agreement represents a significant step forward in the evolving landscape of the home entertainment market.
