Smuggling of goods valued at 30,000 euros has occurred, with two individuals currently under investigation.

Kosovë Polisi, in collaboration with the Tax Inspectorate and Customs Anti-Smuggling Unit, successfully identified and confiscated illicit merchandise totaling approximately 30,000 euros. The operation unfolded in Pejë, executed in accordance with court directives. During a routine business inspection, authorities seized a significant quantity of prohibited items.

This included 684 electronic cigarettes, 1,400 grams of loose tobacco, 94 cigarette filters, 1,016 electronic cigarette filters, and 8 kilograms of shisha flavorings. Furthermore, 6,675 cigarettes of diverse brands were discovered, alongside 94 PURO cigarettes. A subsequent search of the suspect’s dwelling uncovered an additional stockpile of contraband.

Specifically, 38,200 cigarettes were confiscated, along with 36,200 electronic cigarette filters and 853 electronic shisha filters. Customs officials determined the overall value of the seized goods to be roughly 30,000 euros. The investigation led to the detention of two individuals, following a public prosecutor’s order.

This successful action highlights ongoing efforts to combat smuggling and the illicit trade of these items. The operation underscores the continued vigilance against the movement of illegal goods.
