Police officers from the SPB Skopje recently detained three individuals—D.D., A.A., and F.L.—on the “Jadranska” main road. The detention occurred under suspicion of committing the criminal act of “endangering the general safety,” as stipulated by Article 288 of the Penal Code. The investigation connecting these individuals to the charges stems from a significant incident that took place at a stockpile of secondary raw materials in the Çairi area.
Authorities confirmed that the incident involved a substantial fire, which occurred when an excavator caught fire at the site. The event was initially reported on January 1, 2026, at approximately 11:20 PM, and the notification was received at the Çairi police station. Following the official report of the fire, officers from the SPB Skopje monitored the area.
They subsequently observed the three suspects traveling in a BMW passenger vehicle bearing Resnjë license plates, leading to their immediate detention. The Ministry of Interior has stated that the authorities are proceeding with a thorough documentation process regarding the circumstances surrounding the fire. Once all necessary case documentation is complete, appropriate criminal charges will be filed against the detained parties.
The investigation continues to examine the full scope of the incident involving the burning excavator and the raw materials stockpile.
