OVL-UÇK: Osman Selmani is not a veteran; the arrest from Serbia is politically motivated

The UÇK Veterans Organization (OVL-UÇK) has issued a statement condemning the recent arrest of Kosovo citizen Osman Selmani by Serbian authorities. The organization vehemently denies any professional or historical connection between Selmani and the status of a Kosovo Liberation Army veteran. In a public declaration, OVL-UÇK asserted that a review of its official records confirms that Osman Selmani does not appear in the organization’s database as a UÇK veteran.

According to the OVL-UÇK, any attempts to establish a link between Selmani and the UÇK are baseless, lacking both factual evidence and legal standing. The organization characterized these assertions as being politically motivated. The denial was echoed by Selmani’s son, who stated that the accusations are unfounded and that the family was not in Kosovo at the time in question.

He reiterated the organization’s official stance, emphasizing that the OVL records are clear on the matter. The core message from both the organization and the family centers on the lack of documented ties. The UÇK Veterans Organization maintains that the linkage between Osman Selmani and the veteran status of the UÇK is without merit.

This official rebuttal suggests that the basis for the Serbian authorities’ action against Selmani is unsupported by the records held by the OVL-UÇK.
