Vuçiq is again in defense of Radoiqi, experts: A dangerous message for the region

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has once more publicly defended Milan Radoičić, the individual allegedly connected to the terrorist attack in Banjësko. During a statement early this week, Vučić asserted that Radoičić’s current legal proceedings are related to matters concerning Kosovo, rather than the terrorist attack itself. This declaration came despite the fact that Interpol had issued a red notice for Radoičić.

Reports indicate that Radoičić has since been receiving security assistance from members of the Serbian gendarmerie. Adding to the international scrutiny, both Radoičić and Zvonko Veselinović are reportedly listed on the US blacklist due to accusations involving organized crime and corruption. For officials within the government of Kosovo, Vučić’s statements suggest a deep concern regarding the independence of the Serbian judiciary.

They interpret the President’s actions as implying that the Serbian justice system is subject to his influence. Furthermore, these statements are viewed against a backdrop where Vučić has simultaneously been accused of encouraging hostile actions directed at the police forces of the Republic of Kosovo. The repeated defense of Radoičić, despite international warrants, continues to draw significant diplomatic attention.
