Water theft in Hajvali, KRU “Prishtina” disconnects 6 illegal connections – cases sent to the Prosecutor’s Office

The Regional Water Utility Company “Prishtina” reported the discovery of six illegal water connections in the Hajvali neighborhood during recent inspections. According to the company’s announcement, the network immediately disconnected all identified unauthorized connections. These cases will be forwarded to the Public Prosecution for subsequent legal proceedings.

The utility company highlighted that the discovery of six illegal connections in Hajvali occurred within a two-hour inspection period. Prishtina emphasized that such unauthorized connections amount to water theft and pose a significant threat to the integrity of the water supply system. The presence of these illegal taps reportedly reduces system pressure, thereby jeopardizing the consistent water supply for paying consumers.

In their statement, the company clarified the nature of the issue, asserting that illegal connections do not represent viable alternatives but rather constitute theft of public water resources. Prishtina further stated that these unauthorized connections are identified as a primary cause of damage to the overall water network infrastructure. The company urges adherence to legal water usage practices to maintain system stability and ensure reliable service for all residents.
