An individual was reportedly taken into custody in the early hours of Sunday following a significant police pursuit that spanned from Rahovec to Gjakova. The detention occurred after the suspect allegedly refused multiple directives from law enforcement to halt and attempted to strike police officers using a vehicle. The details were confirmed to Telegrafi by Vlera Krasniqi, the Police Spokesperson for the Gjakova region.
According to Krasniqi, the incident began during routine police checks conducted in the village of Krushë within the Rahovec area. At that point, the driver of a vehicle reportedly disregarded the police order to stop. Krasniqi stated that police officers initiated a pursuit of the vehicle.
She elaborated that, with the assistance of additional units, the officers attempted to bring the vehicle to a stop on the Prizren–Gjakova highway. However, the individual allegedly continued to resist, refusing to comply with the police commands and further attempting to strike the officers during the ongoing pursuit. The ensuing operation concluded with the individual being arrested.
The police spokesperson confirmed that the pursuit involved multiple units working to safely detain the suspect who displayed resistance throughout the operation. The incident highlights the efforts of the local police force in responding to vehicular resistance along major thoroughfares in the region.
