The Peja Regional Police issued over 35,000 fines in the first half of the year

The Regional Police Directorate in Peja has reported that it issued 35,265 fines for violations of traffic regulations during the first half of 2026. These actions were part of ongoing efforts to enhance road traffic safety across the region. According to the official police announcement, between January 1 and June 30, 2026, the police conducted numerous enforcement measures against vehicle operators who violated current traffic legislation through both local police stations and the Regional Road Communication Unit.

Beyond the 35,265 fines, the police also imposed 1,632 preventive measures. These sanctions included temporary driving suspensions, with penalties ranging from three months to one year. Additionally, 3,047 fines were issued that carried negative points, as stipulated by legal provisions concerning communication safety.

The data reflects the comprehensive scope of the enforcement activities carried out by the regional police throughout the period. The police continue to emphasize that these measures are intended to enforce compliance and improve overall road safety standards.
