Ljutkov: The budget is not read in parts or according to the needs of the party

The Minister of Culture and Tourism, Zoran Ljutkov, addressed allegations raised during the Budget Rebalancing Committee session, asserting that the assertions made do not align with the official financial documentation. Minister Ljutkov stated that while policy discussions involve varying interpretations, factual matters are not subject to such debate. He specifically refuted several circulating claims regarding the reallocation of state funds.

The Minister emphasized that, according to the official rebalancing, there are no provisions indicating that funds designated for personnel and inspection supervision are being repurposed for the acquisition of office equipment. Furthermore, he clarified that neither the allocation for the Film Agency nor the funds designated for capital investments are slated for reduction. In detailing the current financial plan, Minister Ljutkov confirmed that the proposed budget allocates 61 million denars specifically for the “Skopje – European Capital of Culture 2028” project.

Additionally, he noted a substantial allocation of 200 million denars earmarked for capital investments. The Minister concluded by acknowledging the role of public discourse, stating that criticism remains a necessary component of a functioning democratic society. These statements aim to clarify the parameters of the current budget framework against the various claims presented.
