A German doctor has been sentenced to life imprisonment following the conviction for the murder of 15 patients. A Berlin court found the 41-year-old, referred to only as Johannes M. due to German privacy laws, guilty of the deaths of 12 women and 3 men that occurred between September 2021 and April 2024.
According to reports, authorities suspect that the 15 victims represent only a fraction of the doctor’s alleged crimes. Prosecutors are currently investigating numerous other incidents linked to the physician. The victims spanned a wide age range, from 25 to 94 years old.
The court proceedings revealed that while all patients were in critical condition, their deaths were not considered imminent. Prosecutors alleged that during home visits, the doctor administered a combination of various lethal drugs without obtaining the consent of his patients.
