Iran claims to have attacked US military base in Jordan

Iranian state media has reported that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched an attack targeting a United States military base in Jordan. According to the reports, ten ballistic missiles struck the facility in Al-Azraq, as well as a regional command and control center designated for “West Asia.” In a statement, the IRGC warned that if the U.S. military repeats its aggressive actions, other American bases throughout the region would be vulnerable to their missiles.

This escalation comes amid heightened tensions between the U.S. and Iran, following a recent ceasefire agreement. Earlier in the day, the Jordanian state news agency cited a military source, reporting that Jordan’s air defenses had successfully intercepted and shot down eight missiles launched by Iran toward Jordanian territory.

As of the time of reporting, the U.S. military has not issued a statement regarding the alleged missile strike. The conflicting reports underscore a continued volatile situation in the region, with both sides maintaining a high level of military readiness.

The incident marks a significant resumption of hostile actions between the two nations after a period of relative calm.
