ASK: Annual inflation in Kosovo reached 6 percent in June

The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (ASK) has released the Harmonized Consumer Price Index (HCPI) for June 2026, providing key data on inflationary trends within Kosovo. According to the agency’s report, the annual inflation rate in Kosovo reached 6 percent, while the month-on-month rate registered a decrease of 0.1 percent. The ASK noted that this publication utilized the updated methodology and the new COICOP 2018 classification, establishing 2025 as the base year, indexed at 100.

The analysis of price movements compared to June 2025 revealed several sectors driving the overall price increases. The most significant contributors were the transport sector, which saw a price increase of 13.7 percent. Following this, the group encompassing housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels contributed an increase of 11.1 percent.

Other notable upward pressures were recorded in the alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and narcotics category, which rose by 5.1 percent. Furthermore, services related to dining and lodging, specifically restaurants and accommodation services, increased by 4.5 percent. The health sector also contributed to inflation, recording a 4.1 percent rise.

Overall, the data published by the ASK offers a detailed breakdown of inflationary components across the economy of Kosovo, providing stakeholders with a current measure of cost of living changes expressed in percent terms.
