The Department for Minors of the Basic Court in Ferizaj authorized a request from the Basic Prosecutor’s Office for a 30-day pre-trial detention for a minor. The detention was sought in connection with allegations of “Attempted Murder,” “Assault on a Public Official,” and “Unauthorized Possession, Control, or Carrying of Weapons.”
Following a hearing and a review of evidence, the preliminary procedural judge for minors, Shabi Idrizi, determined that there are sufficient grounds to suspect criminal activity involving the minor. The alleged incident occurred on April 10, 2026, at approximately 7:50 AM, in the City Park area of Ferizaj, near the Main Post Office.
According to the court’s notice, the 16-year-old minor is suspected of attempting to deprive two individuals, identified by the initials I.M. and S.H., of life. Furthermore, the reports indicate that the minor allegedly poured gasoline on himself and subsequently attacked police officers with a knife during the incident in Ferizaj.
The court’s decision mandates the 30-day pre-trial detention period for the minor.
