The acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and the Minister of Agriculture, Armend Muja, participated in agricultural harvest and sowing activities in PodujevĂ« today. During the event, Kurti provided an update on the nation’s grain cultivation efforts. He reported that over 75 thousand hectares of white grains were planted across Kosovo, with nearly 72 thousand hectares dedicated to wheat.

Kurti stated that the projected average yield for the crop is between 4 and 5 tons per hectare. Based on these figures, the estimated total harvest for wheat is calculated to be approximately 360 thousand tons. Muja expressed optimism that the final yield could potentially reach 400 thousand tons.

Kurti emphasized that the agricultural sector is undergoing a transformation, noting that the current progress demonstrates the benefits of significant investment, long-term strategic planning, and institutional support. He characterized the trajectory of Kosovo’s agriculture as increasingly modern and competitive. The planting of wheat, among other grains, highlights the government’s focus on developing the sector to enhance national food security and economic viability.
