Police launch investigations into about 20 suspected poisonings at a “Sach Pizza” location in Pristina

Approximately twenty individuals have been linked to cases of food poisoning following the consumption of sandwiches purchased at a location of the Sach Pizza restaurant in Pristina. Affected parties have sought medical care and have been receiving treatment at the Infectious Clinic of the Kosovo University Clinical Center (QKUK) since Friday. Details regarding the outbreak emerged through a source who requested anonymity while receiving care at QKUK.

This individual reported consuming the food on Monday, noting that symptoms began appearing on Friday. The source described the poisoning as severe, confirming that medical attention was necessary. Furthermore, the source indicated that during the stay at the Infectious Clinic, staff reported numerous other cases of illness connected to food consumed from SachPizza, specifically mentioning both the Çagllavicë branch and the central location.

Health authorities are currently investigating the source of the contamination. The clustering of reported illnesses and the consistent identification of the restaurant as the point of exposure suggest a potential public health concern. Medical professionals are monitoring the condition of those hospitalized to determine the precise cause and scope of the outbreak.

Public health officials are advising residents to exercise caution regarding food items from the establishment while investigations continue to determine if preventative measures are required.
