Cases of misuse of drinking water are identified in Gjilan

The “Hidromorava” Water Group has issued a notice regarding the unauthorized misuse of drinking water. Due to observed instances of improper usage, the Water Services Regulatory Authority (ARRU) implemented temporary restrictions effective June 1st to manage water resources throughout the summer season. These new regulations strictly prohibit the use of drinking water from the public supply system for several non-essential activities.

Specifically, the prohibition covers washing streets, sidewalks, and any public or private surfaces. Furthermore, the regulations restrict the use of water for washing vehicles, watering gardens, lawns, or agricultural lands, as well as filling pools. Any usage not directly related to basic human consumption needs is now deemed unauthorized.

The “Hidromorava” Water Group emphasized that establishing any illegal connection to the water supply network is considered a violation of these new directives. These measures are designed to ensure sustainable water management and conserve the available drinking supply during periods of high demand. Authorities urge all residents and users to adhere strictly to these guidelines to minimize misuse and support responsible water consumption across the community.
