The Municipality of Drenas warns citizens about creating illegal dumps

The Municipality of Drenas has issued a notice to its citizens regarding a new directive issued by the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning. This directive mandates the implementation of urgent waste management measures across the entire Republic of Kosovo during the summer season. The guidelines apply broadly, encompassing all municipalities, central and local institutions, hospitals, public enterprises, water infrastructure, and all private business entities, irrespective of whether they are designated as waste owners or generators.

Under the terms of the Directive, the accumulation of urban waste in areas deemed hazardous to public health is strictly prohibited. Specific locations highlighted for compliance include areas near educational institutions, public parks, sports fields, playgrounds, and main thoroughfares or high-traffic zones. The mandate requires comprehensive adherence from all sectors to ensure proper waste disposal throughout the summer period.

The municipality emphasizes that these measures are crucial for maintaining public sanitation and safety standards. Citizens are urged to review the guidelines and ensure that all waste generated within their premises or areas of influence is disposed of through appropriate, designated channels. This collective effort is necessary for the sustained health and cleanliness of the community across Drenas.
