Fruit situation in the region, IKSHPK: 63 cases in total, 11 new in the last week

The Kosovo National Institute of Public Health (IKSHPK) has released an update detailing the current epidemiological situation regarding measles within the country. According to the institute’s report, the total number of confirmed measles cases has reached 63. This figure represents the cumulative count recorded over the period spanning from April 16 to July 13, 2026.

The IKSHPK noted a recent increase in transmission, reporting that 11 new cases were identified specifically during the last week of the reporting period. The situation update further provided a breakdown of the cases by municipality, highlighting regional variations in incidence. The Municipality of Pristina reported the highest number of cases, totaling nineteen.

Ferizaj accounted for twelve confirmed cases, while Lushnjë Kosovo reported nine. Kaçanik recorded eight cases, and Lipjan reported three. Additionally, Vushtrri, Shtime, and Obiliq each reported two individual cases.

The data compiled by the IKSHPK serves to inform public health measures and targeted interventions across the region. Authorities continue to monitor the spread to manage the overall burden of the outbreak and advise the public on necessary preventative health protocols.
