Robert Millosheski elected as head of Bërvenica Municipality

The Municipality of Bërvenica conducted an extraordinary session of its Council on July 13, 2026, to address the operational continuity of the local governing body following the passing of the late leader, Jovica Ilievski. The proceedings were guided by specific provisions of the Law on Local Self-Government, citing Article 54, Paragraph 1, Point 2, and Paragraph 5. Following deliberation, the Municipal Council voted by majority to appoint Robert Millosheski, the current Chairman of the Council, to the role of Acting Mayor (a.d.) of the Municipality of Bërvenica.

This appointment vests Robert Millosheski with the authority to lead the municipality and oversee its administrative affairs. His mandate will remain in effect until the formal declaration and subsequent holding of extraordinary local elections to select a new permanent mayor. As a procedural measure associated with assuming these elevated responsibilities, Mr.

Millosheski has been suspended from his previous capacity within the council structure. The decision by the council ensures that the municipal administration maintains functional leadership during this transitional period. This action formalizes the governance structure of the municipality, providing stability while the electoral process for a new mayor is organized.
