The Kosovo Police have reported two separate instances concerning the criminal offense of “Unauthorized possession, control, or keeping of a weapon.” Furthermore, one of these incidents is also under investigation for the charge of “Smuggling.”
The first documented case took place on April 14, 2026, at approximately 5:00 PM in the village of Skivjan, located in Gjakova. According to the police report, the situation arose following a verbal dispute among family members. An informant alerted authorities that a firearm had been found within the residence of a woman and a man, both identified as Kosovo citizens.
Police units subsequently conducted a search of the suspects’ home. During this search, officers confiscated one firearm, two magazines, and 50 rounds of ammunition. The police statement noted that the investigation was initiated after the tip regarding the conflict within the family unit.
The police are actively managing the details surrounding these two separate cases to determine the full scope of the illegal activities.
