Rozeta Dobi, the sanitary worker implicated in a high-profile theft case, was released from the women’s prison in Pojskë this Wednesday following the granting of a criminal amnesty. Dobi was initially arrested in January 2023 in connection with the theft of significant assets from the residence of Alda Klosi, a former high-ranking state official. Dobi had been employed as a cleaner at the residence for approximately five years.
During the subsequent investigation, authorities conducted a search at Dobi’s private residence. Police reportedly seized substantial amounts of property, including 404,000 euros, 8,500 US dollars, and various pieces of floral jewelry, which were found concealed within a ventilation pipe. In total, the reported assets seized from the residence included 500,000 euros, alongside an additional 58,150 euros and 7,000 dollars.
The initial charges against Dobi related to the theft of 120,000 euros, 30,000 US dollars, and other valuables from Klosi’s home. Despite the amnesty granting her release, the Prosecution has formally demanded custodial sentences for both Alda Klosi and Rozeta Dobi regarding the criminal proceedings. The case highlights the considerable sums of euros involved in the alleged misappropriation of funds.
