Suspension of an employee at the University of Tetovo, suspected of embezzling over 3.3 million denars from student fees

The Financial Police Directorate has submitted a criminal complaint to the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Tetovo concerning an employee of the University of Tetovo. The complaint alleges that the individual, identified as A.Z., is suspected of abusing his office and falsifying documents. According to the Financial Police Directorate, A.Z.

was employed as a senior assistant responsible for logistics and fieldwork at the university from March 2020 to January 2023. The core allegation involves the misappropriation of funds submitted by students. These funds were intended for various purposes, including participation fees, co-financing, and general study expenses.

The complaint states that instead of depositing the collected money into the official university account via the E-pay platform, A.Z. is suspected of retaining the funds for personal use. Consequently, the complaint alleges financial damage amounting to approximately 3,362,272 denars.

The legal action initiated in Tetovo seeks to address these alleged financial irregularities involving the employee.
