The Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPK) held a meeting on Monday and voted to reject requests concerning the removal of personnel from the Mitrovica Prosecutor’s Office. Specifically, the council decided against dismissing five prosecutors and fifteen support staff members. According to reports from “Betimi për Drejtësi,” the KPK forwarded the names of the five prosecutors slated for dismissal to the President’s office, which is headed by Albulena Haxhiu.
During the same session, the Council rescinded its previous decision to suspend salaries for Serb prosecutors and support staff. Furthermore, the KPK voted to reject the withdrawal of resignations submitted by the Serb prosecutors and support staff. Four members—Dardan Vuniqi, Visar Krasniqi, Elza Bajrami-Kastrati, and Arlinda Muqa—cast votes opposing the withdrawal.
In contrast, Arian Gashi, State Prosecutor Zejnullah Gahsi, and council member Milot Krasniqi voted against the rejection. The decisions made by the KPK reflect ongoing administrative proceedings regarding staffing levels and employment status within the local prosecutor’s office.
