Gucati in court in Drenas after being threatened by a person on Facebook

A hearing has commenced at the Basic Court in Drenas concerning Eqrem Abdullah of Rahoveci, who stands accused of the criminal act of intimidation. According to the Prosecution, the charges stem from allegations that Abdullah targeted Hysni Gucati, the head of the UÇK War Veterans Organization, through the social media platform Facebook. The indictment asserts that there is sufficient suspicion that on April 3, 2026, at approximately 1:10 PM, the defendant Abdullah seriously threatened Gucati via his Facebook account.

The prosecution alleges that this action was intended to cause Gucati significant fear, anxiety, and insecurity regarding his personal safety. Furthermore, the indictment details a separate incident where a photograph of Hysni Gucati was posted on a Facebook page titled “Diaspora në Krye.” The accompanying caption alleged that Gucati had received a salary for 19 years as a school secretary without fulfilling the associated work duties. The Prosecution maintained that these actions constitute criminal intimidation.

The proceedings at the court are currently reviewing the evidence presented regarding these alleged threats. The court is tasked with determining the veracity of the claims made by the prosecution against Abdullah. The case continues to focus on the nature and impact of the alleged online harassment directed at Gucati.
