Artan Gegaj, the Director of the Directorate of Agriculture, reported that initial assessments indicate the damage is extensive, and specialized teams are currently documenting the full scope of the damage. Gegaj stated that the day proved to be challenging for the Municipality of Istog.
He noted that following an initial accident, the municipality was subsequently hit by a powerful wind that caused significant damage to agricultural crops across most of the local territory. According to preliminary estimates, although a final assessment has not been completed, approximately 90 percent of the cultivated areas within the municipality are damaged. The storm and accompanying high winds struck Istog, causing widespread agricultural losses.
Authorities have mobilized teams to assess the impact of the severe weather event on local farming operations. The focus remains on quantifying the extent of the damage to aid in recovery efforts for the agricultural community.
