The Cantonal Court of St. Gallen in Eastern Switzerland has issued a ruling against a Kosovar national originating from the Wili region. The court convicted the man on multiple charges, including attempted abortion, attempted grievous bodily harm, deprivation of liberty, and making threats, stemming from violence directed at his pregnant partner.
According to reporting from the Swiss newspaper St. Galler Tagblatt, the judicial proceedings resulted in a sentence of 44 months in a state prison. Beyond the custodial term, the court also mandated the individual’s deportation from Swiss territory for an eight-year period.
Furthermore, the ruling significantly increased the financial compensation the convicted man must pay to the victim. The appeal hearing took place without the physical presence of the accused. Legal representation confirmed that the defendant had notified the court that he was located in the birthplace of his parents.
