An investigation was launched following a fatal traffic accident that occurred on the local road connecting Kočan and Diga Gratçe. According to reports from MPB, the incident took place on July 20, 2026, at approximately 3:30 PM. The accident involved a vehicle identified as a Skoda, bearing Kočan license plates and operated by an individual named I.B., aged 51, from Kočan.
The other party involved was a cyclist, identified as D.Gj., aged 65, also from Kočan. Upon arrival at the scene, emergency services confirmed that the cyclist sustained fatal injuries at the location. An emergency doctor stationed in Kočan officially confirmed the death.
Following standard procedure, the body of the deceased was transported to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for a mandatory autopsy, ordered by the public prosecutor. Officials from the public prosecutor’s office, along with the investigation team from SPB Kočan, subsequently inspected the site of the incident. The investigation is currently underway to determine the precise circumstances that led to the accident on the road.
Authorities are managing the scene while forensic experts collect evidence related to the collision between the motor vehicle and the bicycle.
