The Directorate of Social Welfare announced that a significant clean-up operation was executed on Wednesday evening in an area located on “Lidhja e Pejës” street. The operation involved teams from the Regional Waste Company “Pastrimi,” working in collaboration with various municipal institutions. During the late-night effort, personnel systematically cleared substantial accumulations of refuse.
The site had amassed considerable amounts of mixed waste, along with various household items and general debris. Authorities confirmed that the comprehensive removal of this accumulated waste and debris was successfully completed. Following the clean-up, officials stated that the individual responsible for the accumulation of these materials has been identified.
Competent institutional bodies have since taken appropriate measures in response to the situation. The handling of the case is a coordinated effort involving several specialized agencies. Specifically, the Kosovo Police, the Center for Social Work, and dedicated mental health teams are actively managing the ongoing proceedings.
The coordinated response highlights a multi-agency approach to public sanitation and social welfare management. The removal of the large volumes of refuse required the combined logistical support of waste management professionals and social services personnel, ensuring the area was returned to a safe and orderly condition.
