A significant traffic accident occurred early Friday morning on the Mitrovica–Prishtina national road. The incident took place in the section of the road passing through the village of Studime, located within the Municipality of Vushtrri. According to reports from the Kosovo Police, the accident, which involved two vehicles, occurred at approximately 5:00 AM.
The immediate aftermath of the accident resulted in one fatality and five individuals sustaining injuries. Kosovo Police stated that the deceased victim, identified as a female around 52 years old, passed away at the scene. The five injured parties were transported to medical facilities for necessary treatment.
Following the collision on the Mitrovica–Prishtina highway, authorities initiated an investigation. By order of the case prosecutor, the body of the victim was transferred to the Institute of Forensic Medicine (IFM) to undergo an autopsy. The Kosovo Police confirmed their presence at the site to manage the scene and gather initial details regarding the accident.
Investigators from the Regional Unit began their inquiries to determine the precise circumstances leading to the crash. The police continue to coordinate with forensic experts to process the scene and compile a full report on the incident.
