The penalties cover several key areas of non-compliance. Specifically, three instances resulted in fines of 50 euros each for individuals operating an electric scooter without wearing the mandated protective helmet. A more significant portion of the enforcement action involved nine separate fines, each set at 80 euros, issued for using the scooter in designated areas where such motorized personal transport is prohibited.
Furthermore, the police recorded one instance involving a fine of 100 euros for the dangerous practice of using a mobile phone while actively operating the electric scooter. These initial sanctions underscore the seriousness with which authorities view adherence to the new rules governing personal electric mobility devices. The issuance of these fines serves to enforce compliance across the board.
The Ministry of Interior confirmed that all sanctions recorded thus far pertain directly to violations of the newly established operational guidelines for the scooter.
