Kosovo Police have initiated an investigation concerning the alleged criminal act of “Smuggling with Migrants” following the discovery of six foreign nationals inside a truck trailer in Gjilan. The case was reported on Friday around 11:05 AM after an informant alerted authorities to the presence of several individuals within the trailer while goods were being unloaded from the vehicle. Police units responded to the scene and located the six male foreign nationals within the container.
Both the individuals and the truck driver were subsequently escorted to the police station, where a prosecutor was present throughout the proceedings. Following questioning, the foreign nationals were issued accommodation vouchers in line with established procedures and were subsequently released. The truck driver, who is currently suspected in connection with this incident, remains the focus of the investigation.
Authorities are continuing their inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the discovery and the movement of the foreign individuals. The police have confirmed that the investigation aims to determine the full scope of the alleged smuggling operation.
