The Regulatory Commission for Energy, Water, and Waste Management (KRRE) has approved an adjustment to the cost of heating energy, effective August 1st. This decision impacts residential consumers served by the largest utility group, encompassing EMV Supply, EMV Distribution, and EMV Heat Production. For households connected to this primary system, the average price of heating energy is set to increase by 5.96%.
Consumers utilizing the former Skopje Sever thermal power plant, now operating as Energy Ecolink, will face a smaller average price adjustment of 3.6%. Meanwhile, households supplied by EMV Energetika are expected to see an average increase of approximately 5%. The KRRE stated that this price correction follows comprehensive economic and technical analyses conducted on the operations of the energy companies supplying heating services within Skopje.
Specifically, the commission determined a 5.96% price adjustment, which translates to an average monthly bill increase of 140 denars, raising the average cost from 2,353 denars to 2,493 denars. These changes represent a regulated adjustment to the cost of essential energy services. The differential increases across various providers—including the main EMV network and other regional suppliers—reflect the varied operational costs analyzed by the commission.
The implementation of these new rates marks a significant financial change for residential consumers relying on heating energy supplied by the various EMV and affiliated entities.
