Rama suspends agreement with BIRN for space in “Grand Hotel,” Xharra accuses of retaliation

Pristina’s Mayor, Përparim Rama, has announced the termination of the agreement between the Municipality and BIRN concerning the use of public space at the “Grand Hotel.” Rama cited the lack of “clarifications regarding the crucial issue concerning the Lule Gjeli page” as the reason for this decision. The announcement prompted a response from Jeta Xharra, the director of BIRN Kosovo. Xharra accused Mayor Rama of retaliating against Kallxo.com, alleging that the action was motivated by critical reports concerning his professional work.

Xharra stated that Kallxo.com has repeatedly reported on misinformation published by the “Lule Gjeli” page, asserting that their platform was among the first to challenge the profile after it began disseminating untrue news. Xharra claimed that Rama’s action was an act of retaliation because Kallxo.com published 13 such reports.
