A segment of the “Ibrahim Rugova” street in Gjilan is closed to traffic

The Mayor of Gjilani Municipality, Alban Hyseni, has announced that the central area of Gjilani is commencing a significant phase of urban transformation. This revitalization effort involves the development of several key infrastructure projects, including the Boulevard, the construction of a new market, and the establishment of underground parking facilities. As part of these integrated works, a substantial section of the city’s roadway will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic, beginning on April 28th of this year.

According to the Mayor’s official notice, the specific affected area is the Ibrahim Rugova street segment. This closure spans from the roundabout located at the “Crystal” Hotel up to the roundabout situated at the City Theater. The closure of this thoroughfare is necessary to facilitate the comprehensive execution of the integrated project encompassing the Boulevard, the new market, and the underground parking structure.

Mayor Hyseni issued an appeal to the public, urging residents and commuters to observe the temporary signage erected throughout the area to ensure safety and smooth coordination during the construction period. Authorities have emphasized that these closures are temporary measures designed to modernize and enhance the infrastructure of Gjilani’s core. The municipal administration is coordinating the works to minimize disruption while maximizing the benefits of the updated urban space for the community.

Citizens are advised to plan alternative routes accordingly until the completion of the necessary development phases.
